Starbucks Says It Gets 1 Million Customers Into Stores Via Social Media In One Day
June 08, 2010
At least that's the word from Chris Bruzzo, Starbucks VP of brand, Content and Online, speaking today at the Mashable Media Summit.
As I talk about in my new book THE ON-DEMAND BRAND (available everywhere books are sold), Starbucks has discovered the power of limited-time, soc-net only offers and promotions in driving store traffic. Think Free Pastry Day-style promotions.
They're not alone. Dell has done quite well in that regard (though for driving traffic to its website instead of a physical store), as has Pizza Hut and others.
Starbucks seems to be ruling the roost - but then again, who couldn't use a nice offer on an ice cold double chocolate java chip Frappachino right about now?
Read more about Starbucks' social media moves here, and in the book, here.
