Maybe it's just been lost in the hype around mobile apps, but the lowly SMS still reigns supreme as a way to connect with consumers on the go.
Just this last week, the Pew Internet & American Life project pointed out that only about 25% of US adult mobile subscribers use apps, while the vast majority use text messaging.

I agree with the importance of txting. Apps do have sizzle but txting is a great way to create immediate engagement of customers not to mention discovering apps. I found txting and still do a key ingredient in reaching customers on the go thru their mobile.
