A New Zealand-based pizza chain called Hell Pizza has developed a very cool augmented reality game that pits pizza fans against (what else) zombies in a battle on the box top to protect their favorite pizzeria.
Sure, you have to download an app to play - but given the brand's likely affinity with teen & twentysomething fanboys, it looks pretty righteously cool experience for Hell.
This filmmaker's YouTube video experiment provides a freaky reminder that if you don't want strangers to know who or where you are, then for Pete's sake, don't put it on the Internet.
Still, there has to be a way a hip lifestyle brand could have some fun with this, right?
Express Post in Australia is working with BBDO to launch "video stamps" this holiday season.
Think QR codes on stamps that let the recipient view a 15-second video of you. Hey, if you care enough to send the very best, it may as well be a bit of yourself, too.
What's your view? Does this get your own stamp of approval?
Or is it simply QRazy to think gift recipients will go to all the trouble?
So many businesses scored big with branded games this year, it's going to be hard to pick our favorites.
Here are a few that will surely be looked at as contenders for the annual GEN WOW AWARDS. What were some of your favorite branded games this year?
Heineken's "Departure Roulette": The best digital works in the physical world, not (just) on the Internets. I still don't know if I'd push the button (unless of course I got to pre-select the list of cities to draw from....though that pretty much takes the "Roulette" part out, doesn't it?
In honor of the launch of Android KitKat, Nestle has commissioned 10 yet-to-be-revealed works of art created by 3D printing chocolate instead of printed plastic. Which you know, gets stuck in your teeth, anyway.
They're all cool...but how are you using them? Social media presence is now just the cost of entry. How are you innovating social media for your brand(s)?
Every year, GEN WOW selects its favorites in digital age marketing across a number of categories - mobile, AR, social media, branded games, viral video and more. And this year, we'd love to hear from you about some of your favorites, too.
In December, we'll reveal our choices, and some of the top choices from GEN WOW readers, too.
Here a just three from the last year that could make our list.
Intel & Toshiba: The Beauty Inside (above): One beauty of a social campaign, involving a social film starring Topher Grace as Alex, who wakes up every day in a different body - each new played by a cast of consumers who auditioned via Facebook.
Coca-Cola Wearable Movie: Consumers participate in the creation of a short film featuring a beloved brand - and become the viral engine by which it is spread.
Oreo Real-Time Super Bowl Tweet: Turning Twitter into a slam dunk, and 'Real Time Marketing' into a mania.
It's that time of year again: The GEN WOW Awards are right around the corner.

What AR initiatives got you amped up this year? Above and below are three projects that may make our top five to 10 list for 2013.
Above: Ikea, a longtime innovator in augmented reality, here enabling you to browse their catalog and literally place furniture in your home using AR, before you buy. Also among our faves:
Haagen-Dazs Concerto: A little musical performance on the top of ice cream containers that you could view through your mobile phone; it lasted just about the time your pint should sit before you dig in.
Disney Infinity Action! app: As a tie-in with the new Infinity game, this app allows you to create short videos using a host of popular Disney characters and 30 different animations and props - and then share your creations via social media.
Which are your favorites? What initiatives would you add to the list?
